Meet Our July Employee of the Month: Lukasz Burnos
Introducing our July Employee of the Month, Lukasz Burnos! Lukasz has recently taken on the position of team leader in our aluminium factory. This, coupled with his second Employee of the Month achievement within two years, is a testament to his hard work, attention to detail, and teamwork abilities. Lukasz has a wealth of knowledge, having worked in the industry for 15 years, with 9 of those years spent here at Tradeglaze.
Precision Focussed
After such a long time in the industry, Lukasz still gains immense satisfaction from creating a high-quality product: “Using my foundational knowledge as a joiner, it’s great to see how all the different pieces fit together perfectly to create some beautiful end products that are of such a high standard.”
He goes on to explain what he enjoys about working with aluminium: “I love the longevity of what we do. It’s such a pleasure to be able to walk around Lincoln and see jobs from many years ago still there, looking fantastic and serving the purpose they were designed and made for.”
Lukasz’s Take on Joining the Glazing Industry
When asked what advice he would give to people looking to join the industry Lukasz says: “Be open-minded, willing to learn and proud of what you’ve accomplished.” He also emphasises the importance of quality and precision, often asking his team if they would be happy to have the products they manufacture in their own homes. He continues, “It’s all about precision, accuracy and quality of finish.”
Facing New Challenges Head On
Our Head of Aluminium Daniel Dickson praises Lukasz: “In the short time he has been team leader for our Aluminium Fabrication he has made a huge improvement to team performance and productivity. He has a real talent for motivating and increasing morale among the team which has led to significant increases in productivity and quality standards as he is carrying out extensive quality control on all products.”
Dickson continues, “Lukasz will also go the extra mile, volunteering for overtime and encouraging others to do the same, he is happy to stay after hours to ensure jobs are done. He has excellent attention to detail not only with fabricating but managing the extra load, the paperwork and deadlines has been great. He’s really taken the new role seriously which is evident from everyday tasks and challenges. His contributions to leadership, quality and motivation, in my opinion, make him totally deserving of this month’s employee of the month award.”
Life Beyond the Glass
Outside of work, Lukasz has a strong passion for travel. This year, he has already visited Italy, Poland, and Turkey- where he completed a skydive! Currently, he is planning his next getaway and is hoping to visit somewhere new in September.
