Tradeglaze makes a historic investment to open doors to Passivhaus-standard product fabrication
We are delighted to share that Tradeglaze has taken delivery of a new, fully automated CNC sawing and machining centre. The brand new state-of-the-art Stuga Autoflow-2 MK4 is a historic investment for us. Capable of prepping and cutting on a wide array of PVCu profiles, including the most innovative window and door systems in the UK, the Autoflow-2 MK4 enables Tradeglaze to manufacture windows and doors to Passivhaus-standards.
Tradeglaze production manager Kenny King said: “The new, fully automated CNC sawing and machining centre is a game-changer for us. Capable of producing all saw cuts including arrowheads and espags on either side of profile, it optimises and further improves the precision of our fabrication process. It will also decrease wastage of profile, meaning we will be able to further reduce our impact on the environment by sending less material for recycling.”
“It is widely anticipated that Part L Building Regulations will require far lower U-values windows installed in new homes from 2025. Our forward thinking and focus on innovation means that we will be able to produce ultra energy efficient windows and doors for our customers, way ahead of when new building regulations take effect.”
“This new investment also allows us to manufacture brand new products in our factory such as flush casement windows, a window style that has been rapidly increasing in popularity across both the domestic and commercial markets. Flush sash casement windows are the latest generation windows, offering the authentic look of a traditional timber window combined with all the benefits of modern energy efficiency.”
Tradeglaze managing director Jeremy Wetherall said: “We are excited to add yet another high-tech machine to our manufacturing capability. Our teams at Tradeglaze and our retail subsidiary Jackson Windows pride ourselves on our five-star reputation for the quality of our products as well as the knowledge and expertise of our employees.”
“We are fully committed to investing in Tradeglaze so we can continue delivering the latest technology windows, doors and curtain walling as well as high standards of service for our customers”, concluded Jeremy Wetherall.
Ed Williams, Managing Director of Stuga Machinery Limited – now a wholly owned subsidiary of German manufacturing giant Stürtz Maschinenbau GmbH – said of the investment: “this has been a true partnership from the outset and securing this piece of business with such a forward-thinking fabricator such as Tradeglaze has been testament to Stuga’s professional sales approach; the enhanced features of the new Autoflow machine and our UK-wide service.”
The new Stuga AutoFlow-2 MK4 sawing and machining centre is the fourth addition to the fabricator’s portfolio in the last 12 months. The upgrade follows on from the recent CNC machining centre that the company’s Aluminium factory took delivery in February earlier this year.
