Tradeglaze Welcomes New Purchasing Manager Daniel Smith
We are delighted to share that Tradeglaze has welcomed Daniel Smith to the role of Aluminium purchasing and stock control manager. Daniel comes with great experience in the glass and glazing industry and with much passion to further develop our relationships with our suppliers and to elevate our stock control systems and practices. With the popularity of aluminium in both the domestic and construction markets continuing to soar, we are delighted to have Daniel’s talent and experience on our team as we look to further grow the business and supply more aluminium products to Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire projects.
Daniel says “I am thrilled to join Tradeglaze and to have the opportunity to help grow the company’s aluminium offering. “In the past aluminium had been reserved mainly for the commercial sector. The idea of aluminium windows making any kind of significant return to the residential part of the market wasn’t really on the radar a few years ago. Things have changed dramatically and the industry is seeing an increase in aluminium orders in both commercial and domestic markets. I will be working closely with suppliers to make sure we continue providing customers with market-leading products that offer great aesthetics and performance, at competitive prices.”
Daniel graduated from Hull University in 2016 with a degree in Accounting and then returned to Lincoln and started his first role in the glass and glazing industry. With more and more young people entering the industry, we asked Daniel what advice he would give to someone considering a role in glass and glazing? “It’s a fast-paced but friendly and helpful environment. I admire how resilient, supportive and innovative people in fenestration are. There is always advice and help available! Jump in and learn as much as you can on the go, is my advice!”
In his free time Daniel is an avid golfer! He also enjoys taking strolls in the countryside with his dog.
